Data annotation outsourcing

Hand your labeling work to a managed team of native-speaker annotators, led by one project lead who reports to you. We work in your annotation tool or ours, follow your guidelines, and prove quality on a pilot before the team scales up.

  1. SetupYour guidelines, tool access and NDA. One project lead named.
  2. PilotA small team labels a pilot batch. You get an agreement report.
  3. CalibrationGuideline questions answered, edge cases added, more annotators trained.
  4. VolumeThe full team works to an agreed daily target.

When outsourcing annotation makes sense

Outsourcing data annotation means a specialist provider recruits, trains and manages the annotators, and you get labeled data back to an agreed quality and schedule. It makes sense when the volume changes from month to month, when you need languages your own team doesn't speak, or when your engineers are spending their time running a labeling team.

You keep control of the guidelines and the final say on quality. We handle the hiring, training, scheduling and day-to-day checks.

What you get

A team that runs like part of yours, without the hiring.

  • One project lead

Your single contact for guidelines, questions, schedules and reports.

  • Trained annotators

Native speakers trained on your guidelines and tested before they touch live data.

  • Quality checks

Overlap labeling, agreement scores and reviewer checks on a sample of each batch.

  • Your tool or ours

We work in Label Studio, CVAT, your in-house tool or another platform you use.

  • Data protection

NDA signed first and access limited to the people on your project. How we protect data.

  • Flexible volume

The team grows or shrinks with your pipeline, with notice agreed up front.

How we take over your annotation work

Pricing is agreed after the pilot, when we both know the real pace.

  1. Scope

Data types, label set, languages, volume and deadlines.

  2. Setup

NDA, tool access, guidelines and test questions.

  3. Pilot

A pilot batch with overlap labeling and an agreement report.

    Agreement check QA
  4. Scale

More annotators trained and added in stages.

  5. Run

Daily delivery, weekly reports and regular calibration.

Questions about outsourcing annotation

What is data annotation outsourcing?

Data annotation outsourcing is hiring an outside provider to label your AI training data. The provider recruits, trains and manages annotators and delivers labeled data to your guidelines, quality targets and schedule.

How do you keep quality consistent?

Annotators are tested on your guidelines before live work. Some items are labeled by more than one person so we can measure agreement, reviewers check a sample of every batch, and the project lead runs regular calibration sessions.

Can you work in our annotation tool?

Yes. We work in your own tool or a platform you already use, such as Label Studio or CVAT. If you don't have one, we can set one up for the project.

How is outsourced annotation priced?

We agree the price after the pilot, once we know how long each item really takes and what quality checks you need. You won't be asked to commit to volume before you've seen the pilot results.

Plan a pilot

Tell us the data, labels, languages and volume, or book a call. We run a pilot and agree the price once we both know the real pace.
