What we do for agencies

Translation agencies use us as an extra production team. We handle the work around translation, such as layout, file preparation, transcription and subtitling, and we supply translators for languages your network doesn't cover.

Everything comes back under your name and in your file naming, ready for your QA step and your client.

Services agencies send us

Take one service for one project, or set up a standing arrangement for all of them.

  • Multilingual DTP

Translated IDML and InDesign files laid out in every target language, including right-to-left and Asian scripts. More on DTP

  • File preparation

Scanned PDFs rebuilt as editable files, and messy source files cleaned up so your CAT tool segments them properly.

  • Language checks after layout

A native speaker checks the laid-out pages against your translation before they go to your client.

  • Transcription and subtitling

Audio and video jobs transcribed, translated and subtitled, delivered as SRT, VTT or burned-in files.

  • Rare and low-resource languages

Translators for languages such as Tigrinya, Karen, Rohingya, Somali and Kirundi, which public-sector clients often need.

  • E-learning rebuilds

Storyline and Rise courses rebuilt and tested after your team has translated the text.

When agencies call us

Three common reasons agencies bring in a production partner.

  • Deadline pressure

A big layout job in a short window

Your translators finish on time, but the layout for every language lands in the same week. We take the DTP for some or all languages and deliver into your QA step.

  • A gap in your services

Work your team doesn't do in-house

A client asks for subtitles, an e-learning rebuild or a focus group transcript. We do the production work, and you keep the client relationship.

  • A gap in your network

    A language you can't staff

A public-sector client needs a notice in Tigrinya or Karen. We supply the translation and the layout, under your name.

How we work with your team

Terms we agree in writing before the first job.

  • White-label delivery. No Giga branding in files, metadata or file names.
  • No client contact. We deal only with your project managers and never approach your clients.
  • Your tools and files. We work from your XLIFF files, packages and translation memories, and return them the same way.
  • Your NDA. We sign it before you send anything.
  • A rate card. Agreed rates per page, per word or per minute for the services you use, so you can quote your client without waiting for us.

Questions from agencies

Do you work white-label for translation agencies?

Yes. Files, file names and metadata carry no Giga branding, and we follow your naming and delivery rules. Your client never needs to know we were involved.

Will you contact our clients?

No. We deal only with your project managers, and we put that in writing before the first job.

Which CAT tools do you work with?

We work from bilingual XLIFF files and packages exported from the common CAT tools, including Trados, memoQ and Phrase, and return them in the same format with your translation memories intact.

Can we start with a test job?

Yes. Send a real file from a current project. We quote it like any other job, and you judge the quality before sending more.

How do you price agency work?

We agree a rate card for the services you use most, per page for DTP, per word for translation and per minute for audio and video. Larger or unusual jobs get their own quote.

Can we send only the DTP for some languages?

Yes. You can send us only the languages your designers don't work in, such as Arabic, Hebrew, Thai or Japanese, and keep the rest in-house.
