What ecommerce localization covers

Selling in another country means more than translating product descriptions. Product names change to the words shoppers search for, sizes and measurements convert, prices show local tax labels, and checkout, delivery and returns text has to match local rules and habits. A UK shopper adds to a basket; a US shopper adds to a cart.

We work from your product data in bulk, so new listings go live in every market at the same time.

What we localize for online stores

Every text a shopper sees, from search result to order email.

  • Product listings

Titles, descriptions, attributes and bullet points, translated in bulk from your feed.

  • Search terms and filters

Product names, categories and filters using the words shoppers search for. More on product data.

  • Checkout and account pages

Cart, checkout, delivery and returns text, with local payment and tax terms.

  • Emails and campaigns

Order emails, newsletters and seasonal campaigns. More on transcreation.

  • Banners and product images

Sale banners and images with text, recreated per market. More on images.

  • New product copy

Descriptions written from scratch in the target language from your product data. More on content writing.

How a store localization runs

A sample category goes first, so you can check tone and terms before the full catalog.

  1. Export

You export products and store text from Shopify or your platform as CSV or a feed.

  2. Terms

We agree product names, size terms and tone per market, and build a glossary.

  3. Translation

Native linguists translate in bulk, with repeated phrases translated once and reused.

  4. Store check

A native speaker checks a sample of live or staging pages in each language.

    Second check QA
  5. Import

Files returned in the same columns, ready to import into your store.

Questions about ecommerce translation

Can you translate our Shopify store?

Yes. Export your products and store text as CSV, or give us access to your translation app, and we return the translations in the same format, ready to import.

Do you translate product titles for search?

Yes. Translators use the words shoppers in each market type into search, which often differ from a direct translation of your English title.

How do you handle thousands of products?

We work from your product data in bulk, use a glossary for product terms, and translate repeated phrases once. You only pay full price for new text.

How is ecommerce translation priced?

By word count, with lower rates for repeated text. Large catalogs and regular monthly uploads can be priced per month. You get a fixed quote from a sample export.
