These terms apply when you use this website or order work from Giga Translations. Giga Translations is a trading name of registered company name (company number company number), Suite 49, New House, 67-68 Hatton Garden, London EC1N 8JY ("we" or "us"). "You" means the business or person using the site or ordering work.
If you've signed a separate agreement with us, that agreement applies where it differs from these terms.
1. Using this website
You can browse the site and download our materials for your own business use. Please don't copy the site's content for commercial use, try to break or overload the site, or use it to send us anything unlawful or harmful.
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or online. Links to other websites are there for convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.
2. Quotes
A quote is based on the files and instructions you send, and it's valid for 30 days. If the files change, or turn out to be different from what we were shown (for example, a scanned PDF instead of editable source files), we'll tell you and send a revised quote before going ahead.
3. Orders
A project starts when you accept our quote in writing, by email, purchase order or signed confirmation. Accepting a quote means you accept these terms.
4. What we need from you
- Final source files, fonts, images and any reference material, glossaries or style guides.
- Clear instructions on languages, format, deadline and where the work will be used.
- The right to share the files with us, including any personal data inside them.
- Timely answers to our questions. If answers arrive late, the delivery date may move.
5. Delivery
We'll deliver by the agreed date and in the agreed format. If something outside our control causes a delay, we'll tell you as soon as we know and agree a new date with you.
6. Checking the work and fixing problems
Please review the work within 10 working days of delivery. If something doesn't match the brief, such as a translation error, a layout fault or a missed instruction, tell us in writing and we'll correct it at no charge. Changes to the source content, or new instructions after delivery, are new work and will be quoted separately.
Matters of style and preference aren't errors, but we're happy to discuss them.
7. Fees and payment
Our fees are set out in the quote and exclude VAT, which we add where it applies. Unless the quote says otherwise, we invoice on delivery and payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date. For large projects we may ask for a deposit or invoice in stages. We may charge interest on late payments as allowed under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
8. Cancelling a project
You can cancel at any time by telling us in writing. You'll pay for the work done up to that point, plus any costs we can't recover, such as interpreters already booked. For interpreting, cancellations within 48 hours of the booking are charged in full.
9. Confidentiality
We keep your files and project details confidential and only share them with team members who need them to do the work. Everyone on our team is bound by a written confidentiality agreement. We'll sign your NDA if you need one.
10. Ownership
Once you've paid in full, you own the finished work we deliver. You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, the source material you send us. We keep our own tools, templates and methods. Confirm whether translation memories built on the client's content belong to the client
For AI data projects, the project agreement says who owns the dataset, what you may do with it (for example, train your own models), and on what terms you may share or sublicense it. Those points are agreed before any data is collected. We don't reuse your data, your labels or your contributors' recordings for anyone else.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Otherwise, our total liability for any project is limited to the fees you paid for that project. We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost business or reprint costs, unless you approved the work in writing for a specific use and told us about that risk before we started.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on the site when you accept a quote is the one that applies to that project.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
