Languages and scripts we work in
Major European and Asian languages, Arabic and Hebrew, Indic languages, and less common African and Asian languages. Translated by native speakers, and laid out in the right script and direction by designers who work in it every day.

How we cover a language
Every language on this page is translated by native speakers and checked by a second native speaker. For layout work, a designer who reads the script sets the text, so line breaks, hyphenation and punctuation follow that language's rules, not English ones.
If you need a language that isn't listed, ask. We'll confirm whether we have native linguists for it, in your subject, before you send the files. Full language list to confirm

What each script needs in layout
The problems we fix most often in translated files. More on multilingual DTP.
- Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi and Urdu. Right-to-left text, mirrored layouts, and numbers and Latin words that run left to right inside the line.
- Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Line-break rules for punctuation, fonts with full character sets, and no hyphenation.
- Hindi, Bengali and Tamil. Fonts and settings that join characters correctly, which some software gets wrong by default.
- Thai, Khmer and Lao. No spaces between words, so line breaks need a dictionary, not the space bar.

Questions about languages
Which languages do you translate?
Major European and Asian languages, Arabic and other Middle Eastern languages, Indic languages, and less common languages such as Pashto, Somali and Tigrinya. Tell us the language pair and subject, and we'll confirm in the quote.
Do you translate between two languages that aren't English?
Yes. Many projects go directly between two other languages, such as German to Polish or Arabic to French, using translators who are native in the target language.
Do you handle regional variants?
Yes. Tell us the market, and we use translators from it. Brazilian and European Portuguese, Latin American and European Spanish, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese are handled as separate languages.
Can you lay out right-to-left languages?
Yes. Our designers set Arabic, Hebrew, Farsi and Urdu in InDesign and other tools, mirror the layout where needed, and a native speaker checks the finished pages.
Check a language pair
Tell us the languages, the subject and the file type, or book a call. We confirm linguists and send a quote.
