Which Arabic you need

Most written Arabic, from contracts to websites, uses Modern Standard Arabic, which readers across the Arab world understand. Marketing, social posts and voice-over often work better in a regional variety, such as Gulf or Egyptian Arabic. Tell us who will read or hear the content, and we'll recommend one.

Arabic also changes the design. Text runs right to left, layouts are mirrored, and Arabic fonts need more line height than Latin ones. We check the text and every finished page or screen after layout.

Questions about Arabic translation

Do you translate into Modern Standard Arabic or a dialect?

Modern Standard Arabic for most documents and websites, because readers across the Arab world understand it. For marketing, social media and voice-over, we can use a regional variety such as Gulf or Egyptian Arabic.

Can you lay out Arabic in InDesign?

Yes. Our designers set Arabic right to left in InDesign, mirror the layout where needed, and choose fonts that support Arabic. A native speaker checks the finished pages.

Do you translate Arabic into English?

Yes. Native English translators translate Arabic documents into English, and a second linguist checks them.

How much does Arabic translation cost?

Arabic translation is priced by word count, subject and deadline. Right-to-left layout is priced separately, by page. You get a fixed price in writing before work starts.
